The Senior School’s aim is to ensure a smooth transition for each student from school to their chosen next step, by providing learning opportunities that support them in their exploration and selection of career pathways. We operate as a separate, distinctive, small, caring community within the College, responding to individual student needs.
In Year 10, all students study the core Key Learning Areas through a range of subjects designed to optimise students’ chances of achieving their potential in the rigours of Year 11 and 12 while focusing on future options.
There is a specific emphasis on Career Education, decision making and individualised mentoring in Year 10 through the Student Education and Training Plan.
Students in Years 11 and 12 individualise their study programs to suit their own future aspirations. We have structures in place that allow students to select a mix of senior academic, tertiary preparation and university first year units, school or TAFE-based vocational education subjects as well as undertake school-based apprenticeships/traineeships and work placement options.
We believe students will achieve greater success when they take responsibility for their learning, preparing today for tomorrow.
